HELPING
THOSE IN NEED

IN MARCH 2023, A NEW RECORD WAS SET IN OUR CITY WITH CLOSE TO 270,000 CLIENT VISITS TO FOOD BANKS IN TORONTO, THE HIGHEST NUMBER EVER RECORDED IN OUR 40 YEAR HISTORY. PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC, THERE WERE ABOUT 65,000 CLIENT VISITS PER MONTH.
DAILY BREAD FOOD BANK VISITS HAVE QUADRUPLED.
With record high rates of inflation, soaring rents, and stagnating incomes, Torontonians are struggling more and more to put food on the table. Each month, we’re seeing 12,000 new individuals access the food bank, a figure that is six times greater than before the pandemic. Simply put, food banks are at their breaking point, and there is no sign of relief in sight.
LET'S DO SOMETHING
